The ring

I used the pill for 3 years- or more so forgot to use the pill. I hate pills and have a very hectic life with little routine so they just didn't work. So I was put on the ring. I LOVE it. I switch it out once a month and hubby can't feel it so everythings good! I don't feel it during the day or night and only have to think about it once a month.

Hormones Don't Work For Me

My husband and I use withdrawal for birth control. We were using condoms until recently because I can't take hormones. I'm estrogen dominant to begin with and I tried every low dose on the market (they all made me feel gross or gain weight). So we take the risk of getting pregnant each month but we are at the point in our lives that when it happens its ok. The pros are you're not putting fake hormones in your body and messing with your natural cycle and the con is that you never know if you might be pregnant. Every month is a waiting game. I might get a copper IUD after I have my 1st kid and then once we have our 2nd he's getting snipped. I'm happy to say it was his ides since I have to go through child birth he volunteered. Good luck to anyone in the same boat!

no to artificial bc

I was on depo for 5 years, the last shot I got was in Dec. 2002, I stopped getting it because I got pregnant with my daugher on it in Jan. 2003. I guess I just didn't have the best of luck with it. I know a lot of women who got pregnant on it or started taking it when it was new and now have fertility problems directly linked to the depo shot.
my bc of choice is abstenence when not ttc or condomes both male and female kind. I just have a problem with chemicals in your body that prevent it from doing what it is meant to do.

I LOVED DEPO!!!--REALLY

I have used Depo for approximately 8 years and LOVED it. That's right, LOVED IT!! My last injection was in May of this year. My cycles are starting to level out now. I don't understand why there are so many people who hate it and claim that it has ruined their lives. There is a large disclaimer in every box as well as side effects printed on the pharmacy leaflet that is stapled to each pharmacy bag. If the injections were given in the doctors offices (I did my own injections), the doctors and nurses I am sure were able to answer any questions.

I skipped one injection in late 1999 and immediately got pregnant. Three and a half months later after the baby was born, I got pregnant again. I have been on the injection since then.

I knew very well that the side effects were possible infertility and delayed regulation, weight gain, nausea, vomiting, etc.

I am very sorry that some of you out there have had problems with Depo, however, I cannot understand the aggervation when side effects, etc are so easy to understand and research

How DEPO worked for me!!

I was one the pill from age 16 to 23. I had some break through bleeding but nothing to bad. My only main problem was forgetting to take it. So that was my down fall with the pill. Because of that I went on DEPO. Let me tell you... BIG MISTAKE! I was on it for 6months, 2 Shots. Yes it was more convinent and I never forgot to take anything. I did gain A LOT of weight (20lbs) and then there is the LONG term side effects I will never forget. My doctors think my main reason for not getting pregnant has been the DEPO. What doctors dont tell you is in most women it take 6months to get it out of your system but in other women any where from 12 to 24 months. Depo has hurt my chances of having a baby dramatically! I will never go on it again and I strongly advise other women to think twice about DEPO before you get it. Being infertile is very hard and I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy.

DEPO IS HORRIBLE

I went through the same thing with the depo shot. I WAS ON IT FOR THREE STRAIGHT YEARS. Just for the doc (health deparment that is) to ask me to sign a form stating that I knew about the risks of the depo shot and loss in bone density. Apparently, they were supposed to take me off of the depo a year and a half before they told me about the risks.
I immediately got off of it, and had periods that would last for 2 months at a time. It ruined my daily routine, my love life with my partner, and my sanity for a long time. Finally, I got BACK on birth control pills just to regulate my cycles. After 6 months of BCP I quit those as well and ended up with 28 day cycles ever since.
