diaphragm

I have used BC pills for 7 years. I wanted a time rest for them, because they made my libido decrease consistently. So, I stopped taking pills 9 months ago, and now I use a diaphragm with spermicid gel, only on te days that I Know my ovulation is near to happen, and it's working well. And if doesn't, no problems... i'm married for 4 years now, and maybe if happens is because is the time to bring a new member to my family.

DEPO RUINED MY LIFE!!

i was on depo injection for 16 months got on with it ok but i didn't get any periods pretty much straight away.
however we decided when our son was 17 months to start trying for that brother or sister however it took 7 months for my peroids to return.
they were then very erratic sometimes going as long as 45 days between each one. by a year with no success i went to see my gp she sent me for blood tests which confirmed that i was not ovulating. i was then reffered to my local gynacology dept and told that 18months was not unusual for the injection to get out of my system they took 4 blood tests over the next 2 months all coming back the same not ovulating. i went back last week and was told to have a final blood test if i'm not ovulating then they will give me tablets to boost ovulation.
however my son will be three in a months time and i wanted to have had my second baby by now.
i have had to sit back and watch all my other friends have there baby's and only wish it could be me!!!!!

Caps?

Just wondered, doesn't anyone use the cervical cap any more? I used it for 8 years and would never consider anything else. Condoms - you have to rely on the guy to be amenable, the pill - extra hormones that turn me psycho, IUD - something inside me that will make my already heavy and painful and long periods heavier and longer and more painful! You can even make it part of foreplay - it's magic!

Comfortable with Condoms.

I solely use condoms (without nonoxynol-9). I had a prescription for the pill when I was a teenager, but decided never to take it. After much deliberation and research, I decided to avoid putting additional chemicals and substances into my body, especially those which alter my hormones. Of course, condoms are not the most reliable, and I've had a few pregnancy scares (one which turned into using the Morning After Pill - it was a horrible experience).

However, I have friends that use a variety of products. A good friend swears by the trifecta - the pill, condoms, and additional spermicide. Her logic is better safe than sorry.

If women are debating their options, my best suggestion is to fully research what you are using and both its side effects and effectiveness first.

Lastly, I've known of situations where partners have pressured women to change their method of birth control. Stick with your gut feeling.

IUD is For Me!

I use the IUD. I love not having to think about a pill or a shot or a patch or a ring. I tried the pill and the patch and I got pregnant on both.
The IUD is great for moms who want more kids later but want more control over when they get pregnant without the hassle of pills shots and patches.
Personally I cant take the shot or the ring becuase I have migraines and they wont give them to me. So my only other option was the mirena. I can't feel it. Its always working and all I have to do is check the string every month to make sure its soft and still there. I have had it since January of 2006 and the only issues I had was that at first my periods got heavier. But now that they are not as frequent and dont last that long I couldn't be happier.

I love ortho-tri-cyclen lo

I am currently taking ortho-tri-cyclen lo and I love it. Other methods made me very sick. I was moody, confused, and depressed. So I switched about a month ago and have been fine. I forget I am on the pill at times. Before taking any birth control I suggest that you meet with your doctor and discuss pros and cons.
