IUD's, Pro's and Con's

I have tried so many different types of birth control from the pill, to the Depo shot, to the patch, to the OrthoNovum ring and they all made me feel very moody and gain weight. Finally after speaking with my GYN she introduced me to the IUD. Can anyone share their experiences with IUD's? Thanks!!!

NO BIRTH CONTROL FOR ME

No Birth control for me. Oh no. I was on the pill shortly after high school and I took it for less than 2 years. It took me 1 year to start menstrating again normally (i had maybe 3 periods that year). It took my husband and I 5 years to have my 1st son and he is 1 now. My period just came back 2 months ago and I am hoping it sticks around for a while. Go figure i got pregnant during one crazy week of middle of the night lovin :) That was very strange. Who knows how long it will take this time. I am hoping for a winter baby. Heres HOPING! Good luck to you all!

YAZZ is awsome!!

I use Yazz. I think it was the best thing invented!! no bloating, moodiness, weight gain, nothing!! I went from having 7 day periods to 4 days. i think its the best birth control out there!! I will not change to anything else. The only downfall is if you do not have good insurance it is very very expensive. but other than that what the commercials say about it is soooo true!!!

Agree - Natural Family Planning the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

I must a agree that Natural Family Planning is the best. It took me a while to double check :) make sure I understood and after that bingo!!!!!!!. Love it so much that I will like to teach it to my friends as well but i understand it's not as simple as that. My husband had to be taught as well because he did not understand the waiting time. I wanted to make sure I understood because we were not ready for another child and the pills made me fat and I am somtimes a "forgetful Jones" :) This way I was able to feel comfortable and not worry.

paragaurd copper IUD

I have had problems with birth control. I can not take anything with hormones or else i get really sick and get extremely bad migraines. My body produces alot of hormone so adding more was not an option for me. I already had 2 children so i wanted something i could have for safety but get pregnant again fast when the time came to have our last child. I decided on the Copper IUD...the insertion was pain free i only had mild cramping after and a little spotting. I had choosen to get the 10 year IUD (hormone free of course). The only thing i did not like was i had heavier longer periods and i had major cramps. Every body is different but that was just my experience. I really liked the IUD though..not having to worry about a pill everyday and such it was great and me and my husband felt we could be more spontanious.

natural family planning

When I was in a previous relationship we used natural family planning because I was unable to take the pill. It was a lot of work but very effective for us.
