Anyone in a similar situation?

I have PCOS, only symptoms are irregular 28/52 day cycle for past 5 years, overweight by 3 stone, but trying to lose weight and have already lost 10lb. Testing LH surge daily inbetween periods, no sign yet, TTC for 7 months. I'm only 28 but feeling a bit hopeless at times... Does anyone know of a similar situation to mine were weight loss has worked and resulted in BFP?! I would love to hear any stories as I'm new to this. Thanks.x

When to test with irregular periods and PCOS?

Anyone any ideas of when you should test if you have irregular periods and PCOS. I got an LH positive surge on Sunday and wondering how long I should wait. I have had 3 temperature rises, so hopefully thats an indication that I have ovulated and hopefully get a BFP. Any advice welcomed!

Endometriosis

Been TTC for over 3 years now, and have been seeing the RE for over 1 year. In July 2008, I had laparoscopy, where they found traces of endometriosis... otherwise everything looked fine. My cycle is regular, DH is fine, and all other tests have been completely normal. 2 years, and 5 IUIs later (along with acupuncture, and several months of herbal treatment), I was finally given a sonohysterogram which detected polyps on my ovaries. No telling how long these have been there, however I have been having symptoms for 6 months (heavy / long / painful periods, bleeding between cycles - which I informed the RE of...). Although I'm happy this was discovered, it is incredibly frustrating that this test was not performed MUCH sooner despite requests for additional testing. Had laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, polypectomy and D/C done just under a week ago, which discovered endo on bladder, uterus and polyps. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the answer to our years of waiting... The test was done on CD9 - may start TTC this month depening on how I feel (even though we know it's early). Afraid to wait too long - if endo grew back that quickly, we don't want to risk losing our window of opportunity with IVF if needed.

TTC with PCOS - fsh injections

Hi there, i'm new to this, but really wanted someones advice.

I'm 25 and have been ttc#2 for 4 years. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005, and was immediately told to lose weight and everything would be fine. easier said than done! After another year of trying, still nothing happened. Then i decided to switch doctors, best decision i've ever made. My new doctor immediately started me on provera and clomid as i hadnt had a menstrual cycle on my own for years. The clomid didnt work at 50mg 150mgso doc asked me if wanted to try Ovarian drilling (laproscopic diathermy). I agreed and had this in dec 08. painful, but after 6 weeks i ovulated and had 3 full cycles lasting 6 weeks. I got pregnant in June '09, but subsequently miscarried in Aug. I was heartbroken as was my husband.
Since then i was given provera and clomid again, but this hasnt worked. I feel like i'm right back at the start again.

The next step is FSH injections i think. My appt at docs is on 29th jan, so hopefully she will sign me up for these asap.

Has anyone else had these injections, and did they work? Really looking for some good news stories here, as i am getting more and more disheartened as the months go on.

Marie xx

Detecting Ovulation with PCOS?

I was diagnosed with PCOS a month ago, and I was just wondering if it is possible to track my ovulation when I haven't had a period in three months. My doctor put me on Metformin when he diagnosed me. He also told me to come back in three months to take a PT, but he didn't say anything about how often I would ovulate. I was so overwhelmed by the news he just gave me I didn't think to ask.

New To PCOS

I have been recently diagnosed with PCOS and I am frustrated. More days than not I have some form of discomfort or severe pain. So far I have not received any treatment for my PCOS as we are waiting for some test results and other medical issues to be resolved. We are anxious to have childred right away! I am noticing some of the side effects are causing me to be depressed at times. Any advice on how to cope??
