No Periods, Less Periods

Period suppression is currently a very hot topic. Will you (or do you already) take prescription meds to stop your period, or to have less periods a year? Why or why not?

No Way

I would think that it would be very unhealthy, simply because your body is not able to release toxins it needs to. And also who knows what other chain reaction could be set off by manipulating the natural "flow" of things.

Period Suppression

I will be the first one to admit that periods are a pain! Mine is really heavy, and I get terrible cramps. It lasts longer than I'd like it to, and it's just no fun.

HOWEVER, since I can't actually look inside and make sure that things are doing what they're supposed to be doing, my period is the next best indication that my reproductive system is functioning normally.

Even when I'm done having children, my periods will continue to reassure me. You know, the female hormones do more than just regulate fertility.

No Periods, Less Periods

no!

NO I would not take prescription meds to stop my period or to have it less. I like it every month because I know everything is fine with me and what's most important that I'm not pregnant.

No Periods, Less Periods

Periods make me feel like a woman

I'm unfortunately in the position of having PCOS and I don't have periods. I can't remember the last time I had a period naturally without having to take Provera - but it happened this week and I was so happy! Having a period makes me feel like a normal woman - so to me it's the best thing in the world.

No Periods, Less Periods

Periods are unique..just like us

I wouldn't take meds to alter my period. I think that a woman's period is a gift! Not everybody can get a period, so why try and stop something that not everybody can have? I love my period because it makes me feel closer to other woman & reminds me that we're all linked in this circle that will never end. We're able to have kids and bring life into this world, but without our periods, where would we be? We would all be the same. I think a woman's period is what makes her unique, because no period is the same as anybody else's..just like us.
