No Periods, Less Periods

Period suppression is currently a very hot topic. Will you (or do you already) take prescription meds to stop your period, or to have less periods a year? Why or why not?

Why can't we be like animals

Why can't we be like other mammals and just re-absorb our eggs instead of shedding? I don't want children, never have. I would love to get rid of my period permanently. The only thing stopping me is money. I'm sorry for those who want to get pregnant and can't but I see no reason for. I know my hormone balance and health is delicate but I have a period 6-10 days mostly heavy very crabby, anemic, headaches, severe backpain, nausea, etc. One thing I will concede though is that there's no telling what's going on health wise if I did do that. I'd wait at least 5 years after a products been out to gage the complaints and side effects before I did anything.

It's naturall

Like my grandmom always said if God didn't want it to happene it wouldn't. It is naturall and there is no telling what side effects it may have in the future by stopping it on our own now.

I HATE my period!!

I HATE having ny period!! I am crabby and bloated for days not to mention just feeling gross and generally blah! My period has no schedule at all, sometimes I have it 2x a month sometimes I have it every other month, it can last anywhere from 3-9 days! I would do anything not to have my period. I am done having children and would like to have 1 less thing to worry about.

Life's not that bad!!!!

I don't think any of us actually enjoy periods, however they are natural and they happen for a reason. I guess those of us trying for babies need periods because we need the cycle, but it is us who hate periods more than anyone as it means failure once again. Ladies, especially those younger girls, don't mess with your bodies as you have no idea what the future holds and what disruption you may be causing to your bodies. Please don't misinterpret what I am saying, I am a scientist and understand drugs, but coming off the normal contraceptive pill which allows you to have a period every month, can have an effect making you have to wait for a year after stopping taking it before you can actually become fertile again. Periods are as old as the human race, just think yourselves lucky with regard to all the new facilities we have now, our grandmothers and their mother had to use rags. Now surely a couple of days with tampax has to be 100 times better than just 1 hour with crumpled up rags of fabric in your pantaloons!!!! there are a lot worse things in life ladies, so please don't mess with your bodies unless you actually have a medical condition which a professional needs to treat.

No thank you, I'll keep mine

No thanks for me too. Sorry ladies, but my body was designed to have a period every 28 days or so and stopping it from doing that can't be healthy. Not saying I like all the PMS and feminine hygiene that comes with it, but its a natural body process and I can't imagine stopping it. What would happen if a woman's body then evolved and stopped having periods at all? Then what if you want a baby? Don't mess with nature.
