SAHM or Working Mom?

Did you (or will you) stop working and be a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM)? Why or why not? Any regrets in your decision, like do you find yourself wanting to go back to work, or in the middle of a meeting do you wish you were home instead? What would you tell other mom-to-bes who are considering being a SAHM - do it or not?

SAHM or Working Mom?

Stay home with your little one! Why not?

I stopped working after I had my little one. It was a hard decision to make since we need the financial help now. It was a great decision though. I get to spend time with my little one, who is now 1 year old and also my oldest daughter who is 9. I spend more time doing family things, and also bonding with my daughters and husband. I do plan to go back to work, but this time I think I will do a part time job. There is nothing better than you enjoying and be able to experience their every first move, instead of having a sitter to tell you how the baby did this or that. My opinion is...If you could get away with it and also afford it, DO IT! Stay home.

If u are able to be a stay at home mom- DO IT!!!!

I have been a stay at home mom and I absolutely love it. I want to work because sometimes it gets stressful but the way I look at it is, If I work I don't have anyone to watch my daughter who is gonna be 2. So the money I will be making from work will have to go towards the cost of daycare. My husband works 3rd shift so it is just easier for us if he works and I stay home and take care of the kids and the house. I guess I would have to say that if u can stay home- do it. I feel I have a greater bond with my kids since I'm here 24/7. I worked when I had my son who is 8, and I wish I wouldn't have because I feel i should have been home with him all the time. And when I sit down and think about it I actually feel guilty for not being at home with him as much as I should have been or wanted to be.

SAHM or Working Mom?

Doing the best you can

i am a working mum, my son is 9 months old and i work full time. i love my job (im a nurse) and i cant imagine not working. if i could afford i would work part time but i cant afford to. i would like to provide nice holidays and a nice house which i couldnt possibly do without my wage as my hubby doesnt earn enough to support us all. and if im totally honest if i was at home all day everyday i would go insane. my son is with a very trusted friend, i feel i appreciate him more when i do get in from work. everyone is different i suppose

your journey, have peace about it

I think we are all on a journey...and when you choose to be a mom or life chooses you...it is a huge repsonsibility to raise a child we all know that...but time is something we never get back..I have been a sahm for 9 years and I have 4 wonderful boys...there are no regrets, have I felt isolated, yes, has it been lonely, yes, did I struggle, yes in many ways, but all in all I was with my children, being a part of it all and for that I will be eternally grateful..but I will be very transparent..whether you choose to stay home or work there is a sacrifice...either to yourself or to your children...I say Trust God...he will give you peace in your decision...he has a purpose and a plan for all our lives...he doesn't have grandchildren. we are all his kids..so whatever you choose , have peace about it...all in all kids are a blessing and with our time we can influence them to make a positive change in this world, what an honor...blessings!!!!!

STAY AT HOME MUMS RULE !!!!

I think if you can afford to be a SAHM (like i am!)then do it ! i mean it's just so rewarding watching your baby and eventually toddler grow and change every day, if you bundle them off to a nursery or whatever, then you are going to miss so many firsts ! and they learn quicker with you and baby having one to one time ! my little boy is 15 months old and he is talking so much, and i really believe that he wouldn't be so vocal had i of packed him off every day, most of us choose to be parents, so why give them to someone else to look after, thats not parenting !
