Feminine Protection Usage

What was the first type of feminine protection you used - pads, tampons, menstrual cup? Do you still use the same feminine protection, or did you switch completely - when, why?

Menstrual cups are almost too good to be true!

I have used a combination of pads and tampons since I started menses when I was 13. I've had plenty of bad experiences with both, but didn't know of any other option. ob tampons are probably my favorites, because there's not so much disposable to deal with.
But disposable products smell, and I don't know of any way to eliminate that. I have gone on two overseas trips lasting a few weeks, and the places our groups were had no garbage facilities. Of course I had my period on the trip both times, which means that I had to store all my used products in plastic baggies until I could discard them. It doesn't matter how many times you wrap those things, they stink like nothing else and the smell permeates everything! It is the nastiest thing ever.
Just this last fall I heard about Diva cup and decided to order one. What a difference! No more stained panties, smell, or having to think about changing products. And they truly are comfortable. I was a little skeptical when I heard women saying they couldn't even feel the cup, but now that I've tried it I know that's the truth! I had a little trouble with the stem, but trimmed it down a bit and now I can't even tell I'm wearing anything. I almost forget about the cup sometimes. More women should use these! They are the best thing ever.

Diva Cup CHANGED MY LIFE!!

So I started with Pads in middle school and I hated them, I switched to Tampons..and I just used them always because they were better. I always had leaks and they were just nasty but I used them because I hated pads. I decided to try the Diva Cup and I am on the 3rd month of it and I LOVE IT. NO LEAKS ever, it is the best thing ever. Aside from the cramps, I forget its in there...love it, no more ruined clothes and sheets. I will never go back!!

When I first started out, mom gave me surfboard pads. I absolutely hated them, but she wouldn't allow me to try anything else. I convinced her to buy ultra thins, but still they were a nightmare. I swore I'd never wear a pad again. I switched to tampons by 15. I used them faithfully until October. I was fed up with the cost of them, and since my brand changed their formula, I'd been getting worse cramps and other symptoms on my period. I invested in a set of cloth pads and will not look back! It was the first period I've gone leak free EVER! They are comfy and didn't leave me itchy and dry afterward.

Menstrual Cup user

I first used pads, then switched to tampons. I switched to a menstrual cup- the DivaCup, in particular- when I was 14. I liked how convenient it was, how it was reusable, and how it was cheap in the long run. It cost $32, and I'm still using the same one at 18 years of age.

Tampon Girl Always

My very first feminine protection was a pad, and it lasted long enough for it to go into the bottom of my panties, pulling up my pants, and attempting to walk out of the bathroom. It was an uncomfortable waddling feeling and I immediately did an about face and switched to a tampon and have been using them ever since!!!

pads or tampons

When i first had my period (13) my mom made me use pads, but as i got older i switch to tampons.i switched when i got to high school or about 16 years old. Why? because i could not stand wearing pads i always think it went threw or people can see the shape.(i was to worried if they can see and i know they can't)Not for nothing i'm glad i switch too cause its more comfy for me like if i dont have any on.(you just have to remember that you have it on and dont forget that its their like some girls done b4)Me personally i perfer the tampons and still use them up to this day.(i'm 35 now :))
