Endometriosis, Heavy Periods, Fibroids...

I have been there but I just got to have faith.

I had two surgeries regarding cysts. One was for a dermoid that took place when I was 26 and the other was for another kind of cyst when I was 23 or 24 yrs old. I am now 28. Both were done by laprascopy and I have been having painful periods since I was 16 years old. The pain medications out there have never worked for me. But there is something called Lady Pinkham that my grandmother told me about that seems to help my pains a little bit. My cysts come back every two or three years or so and I get them on both ovaries. I too worried about having kids because my fiance and I would love to have a family. I got four different opinions from four different doctors. Two told me that regardless of my cysts I would be able to have kids and the other two said I wouldn't. I trust in God that things well get better but I can honestly say there were times I cried my eyes and heart out and cursed my situation. I'm only human and nobody can say that they know what your going through unless they have been in that situation or something similiar. To all the women out there have faith. And have great family and friends around to lift your spirits up and make you laugh when all you feel like doing is crying or when your wallowing in self-pity.

Acupuncture for fobroids, irregular cycle

For the past 10years (and after i quit taking the pill which i was on for 10years)I had terrible pains with heavy periods, extremely irregular cycles and fibroids. I tried everything from aleve-motrin-my grandfather's pain pills. I did have my fibroids surgically removed and it was one of the best things i did. I also put that surgery off for several years and after i wished i didn't. Things went well for the next year, but i was back to the pains, heavy bleeding, such miserable sickness and dizzy spells, etc. that I finally tried acupuncture with wonderful success. I had acupt. every other week for about 4 months. I had great sucess with all the symptoms. I also took a tea of chinese herbs. One formula for when i had my period, a different one for when i didn't. About a year ago we stopped going and i'm right back to where i started. The only difference is that my peroid is very regular. If you can afford it....try acupuncture and stick with it until your symptoms clear up. Worked for me!!

Struggling

My Dr. keeps changing my anti inflamatory meds until I am tired and go through with laprascopy. I am not trilled about the idea a surgery, especially with the insureance co-pay I will have. He will not prescribe an actual pain killer even for the few days of the month I need one.

Has anyone found anti inflamatories that work for them? I have been on Naproxen, Ponstel, and Celebrex. No help so far.

Cysts

Am dealing with a ovarian cyst on my left ovary. My ultrasound showed a dermoid cyst. My doctor insist me doing a larascopy sugery. When that surgery was performed it wasn't a dermoid. He just told me it was a small cyst on left ovary and bowel movement. It has caused irreuglar cycles. I just went off my period on Sunday. It impacts me because am scared i wont be able to conceive. I do want just one more. All i can do now is have faith.. God will make a way

Endometrial Cysts and PCOS

I am 26 and have a 4 year old daughter, she was a suprise to us both but now my fiance and I have been trying for a second baby we are failing at every step. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis. At the beginning of the year I was rushed into hospital to have what was thought to be a large ovarian cyst removed, although it turned out to be an Endometrial Cyst (Chocolate Cyst) that had attatched to my bladder, bowel, intestine and uterus.
The months following the operation were pain free, but now midway through my cycle I am in constant pain only relieved with pain killers. The doctors have said pregnency is still possible but after trying for so long with no results I begin to dread the start of my period because I know its another month to wait for a much wanted addition to the family. Has anyone else had this problem? I would like to think there is a chance before I finally have to sucumb to a dreaded hysterectomy before I am 30.

Very fed up, any views on Mirena?

I have always had a very odd cycle. Always really heavy with more days off than on. The only pill that has ever controlled my cycle has been a combined pill. The doctors advised me to come off that pill, because I suffer from migranes. Since then I have tried all other types. I am now experiencing 8 day periods with 5 day gaps and feel like I just can't take it any more. The only thing left is to try the Mirena coil. I have tried the injection, which just gave me one really light permanent period for well over a year and I am worried the coil will do the same. My problem keeps making me anaemic and just ruins any kind of sex life I might want. Any advice?

Thanks x
