TTC - To Say or Say Not?

While Trying to Conceive, have you found others (even people you barely know) asking prying questions or offering unsolicited advice? Do you think they mean well and just don't think, or are they being meddling and/or on the rude side? Do you respond, ignore it, brew over it all night...?

TTC - To Say or Say Not?

I wanted to tell EVERYONE.

When we first decided to TTC I wanted to run all over the place, jump up and down and tell EVERYONE I could. My boyfriend convinced me that it was not a good idea because of the pressure it would put on us. Especially because my only sister has a 2 yr. old and everyone is a little anxious for a cousin (she's a single mom, no plans for any more kids at the time.)
I finally got to tell someone though... the lady that cuts my hair. It's safe since we don't really KNOW each other. It felt so good to finally tell someone!

TTC - To Say or Say Not?

People are just busy bodies.

Whilst round a friends house one night they asked when DH and I was going start 'trying'. As a joke I said that I was in fact eggy that night and we would be baby dancing all night long. Nearly everyone that I see now is asking if we have any news on the baby front yet. !! so frustrating.

So we have decided NOT to tell anyone when we will start officially TTCing. We want it to be our secret and to savour the moment together when we do eventually fall and then start telling people after the 'safe' period.

I think it is lovely to share something so special.

Good luck to all of you who are ttcing.

People can be rude

I have learned not to say that I am TTC.Most people can be very rude or almost heartless without knowing it.It's like people think that they can put a limit on how many kids you can have.Or they will act as if your time is up and say "your not pregnant yet"Well I am here to say that I have never asked for a dime,I can effort the kids I have and the baby that I want.No I am not pregnant yet just a little bloated so stop asking me(that felt good) :-)

TTC - To Say or Say Not?

Our First Time~ its a secret!

My husband and I are TTC... I have only been off of Birth Control for 4 Months now and am giving my body some time to get back to normal.

We decided not to tell anyone we are trying b/c of the pressure. His family, Mostly his mom and older sister keep asking us when we are going to finally have our first child. This alone has been stressing me out. I am so scared that it will take me a while to conceive and I dont want to deal with all the questions. My husbands sister has only one child and her daughter wants a baby brother or sister... His sister keeps hounding us when we are going to finally have a baby so her daughter will have a little cousin. As a woman who likes to keep her private life private, I dont like dealing with these questions every time we are together. I can only imagine the questions if she knew we were trying.

It is very hard to not say anything to my friends because I am jumping out of my skin with joy that we are finally trying.

Who knows.. maybe its just different b/c this will be our firt child.

Telling others your TTC

My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years. In 2006 we had an early miscarriage and in Dec. 2007 we lost our daughter Maddy at 36 weeks. We started trying again in Feb. and every month my sister askes me "Did you get your period yet" It is so frustrating!! I would suggest that if you are just starting to try that you don't tell your friends and family right away. Although they mean well, their questions and opinions will stress you out. And we all know stress is not good when your TTC!

Keeping it a secret

My DH and I are about to start TTC and we aren't telling anyone. The only people who know are us. We want to take it easy and not have pressure put on us. The more people who know the more questions we'll get especially if they are close friends or family. Plus, I think it's more special this way....a secret that only my DH and I know.
