HPV is the human papilloma virus. It is ubiquitous (it is everywhere). 20 million people in the US are infected with HPV and 6 million more are infected each year. It is the most common sexually transmitted disease, and it is the cause of genital warts, and more importantly, the case of cervical cancer.
