How to Save Charts to PDF Files

MyMonthlyCycles has a variety of data charts for reviewing data. Charts can be printed. Charts can also be saved to your computer, as outlined in this FAQ.

Using PrintView

Most charts have a PrintView option, once the chart is generated. If available, it is usually located just above or below the chart.

Using PrintView (click/tap the link) is recommended before saving to a PDF file, since it removes most navigation elements (such as menus/sidebars).

Accessing Charts

Charts are located on several menus. These menus are accessed by clicking/tapping CHART on the top of any page.

Saving Chart to PDF File

A chart can be made up of a single image, multiple images, and may also contain a summary data report. Saving a chart to a PDF file is a way to store the entire chart from the web page to a file on your computer.

To save to PDF, your browser needs to support "saving" to PDF. Many browsers support saving to PDF by using the Print command, and then selecting Print to PDF and naming the file and location where the PDF should be stored on your computer.

Many devices build-in a Print to PDF (such as Microsoft Print to PDF on Windows computers), which is needed to save a chart to a PDF file.

If your device does not have a built-in PDF writer, you may be able to install for your computer or device. Use Google or your preferred search engine to find out how. For example, search "how to add a pdf printer to {device}", where {device} is the computer/tablet/phone you are using.

For information on how to save to a PDF file, use a Google search similar to: How to save web page to PDF file on {device}, where {device} is the computer/tablet/phone you are using.

For information on how to view a saved PDF file, use a Google search similar to: How to view PDF file on {device}, where {device} is the computer/tablet/phone you are using.

Step 1 - Run Report

Select cycle range, and other criteria. Click/tap Run Chart.

Step 2 - PrintView

Once the report and chart(s) display, click/tap PrintView to open a new window with just the chart.

Step 3 - Use Print to PDF File

Use the browser's Print command to save the chart/report to a PDF file on your computer. Once the Print dialog displays, select Microsoft Print to PDF.

A prompt generally displays to name your file and where on the computer it should be stored.

Note: If you are not prompted for a file name or location, use Google or other Search Engine to find out where your device stores PDF files and how they are named.

Saving Data Reports to PDF

Data reports can be saved as text files, as noted in the FAQ - How to Download Data Report to Text File.

Another option for data reports is to save as PDF files, if supported on your computer. To do so, run the data report, and then follow the steps above to save to a PDF file.
