Is conception date the same as ovulation date?
Not necessarily, though often they are! Conception date is the date
egg and sperm unite. Since your egg can live for about a day after ovulation, conception date
can be the day following ovulation. If sperm are already on board the day you ovulate, there's
a good chance that conception date and ovulation date will be the very same day.
If you're trying for a 2012 baby, knowing when you'll ovulate is helpful to maximizing your
chances of conceiving. OPKs and fertility monitors are a great
way to determine ovulation, as is cervical fluid
tracking and charting, which you can do
for free at MyMonthlyCycles. Combining these
ovulation detection techniques can help increase your conception chances!

Note that the pregnancy due date is only an estimated date, and not an exact date,
and you should always consult with your doctor. Only about 1 in 20
births occur on the predicted due date (that's just 5%), so for most
women (95%), there will always be a few weeks
on either side of the forecasted due date.
