TTC - To Say or Say Not?
While Trying to Conceive, have you found others (even people you barely know) asking prying questions or offering unsolicited advice? Do you think they mean well and just don't think, or are they being meddling and/or on the rude side? Do you respond, ignore it, brew over it all night...?

TTC - To say or say not?
Yes! many people have made the observation that it's taking a very long time for baby #2 and what are we waiting on. I've had my in-laws ask my husband if I have fibroids. To check me out to see if there is something medically wrong. To just stop holding back the sex and have it more often. I sometimes brew over it but recently I have just had to laugh because I know the tension is not making it any easier to conceive.

TTC - To Say or Say Not?
DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL!!
My husband & I had been trying for 1 year & we live in a small town. It turns out I had a hypothyroid problem. I started taking a synthetic hormone (synthroid) & my hormone levels went down right away! We got pregnant & were so excited! My husband wanted to tell everyone . . . I wanted to wait until the first trimester was over. We ended up having a miscariage at 10 weeks, but A LOT (it seems) of people knew by then. It has been a few months, but now everyone wants to know when we are "going to start trying again." My advice is kind of in the line of "Don't ask, don't tell!" Don't ask if your friends are trying to get pregnant, DON'T TELL IF YOU ARE TRYING. It's just so much easier that way. If you want to tell your very good friends then do. Just-in-case something happens, or things do not go as planned you do not have to be constantly reminded of what feels like a personal failure (EVEN THOUGH IT ISN'T!) when you go to the grocery store. It is a wonderful exciting time in your life BUT KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!

Wish I'd kept my mouth shut
I so wish I'd not told anyone, yet I find I can't help telling more people as the days/weeks/MONTHS go on. I'm so excited that I'm TTC, but it is just taking SO much longer than I anticipated.

ttc after stillbirth
8 months after our daughter was born we got prego again (not planned) and family were disappointed at the small age gap between the two preggo's. Sadly our baby boy was stillborn which annoyed the family as its a family full of girls and they wanted a boy. a couple of relatives got prego soon after and eveyone went on about getting a boy again. we started ttc about 7 months ago so far no joy but we are keeping quiet about our ttc efforts as we dont want to be pressured a) because of the death of our last baby, B) the family will keep asking if we are prego all the time like they did to the others and c) we just want to get on with it in our own space and time we dont care about the sex of any future baby and want to do this for ourselves in private.

TTC- TS or SN response
I have heard all kinds of "sure ways to conceive" from people of all ages. I am sure that they are all the same things we have all heard. :-D
I tend to thank them, state that I'll keep their advice in mind, and then I tell people what crazy whacked out thing was suggested to me. (would that be brewing?)
I do know that I am POSITIVE that my mother did not stand on her head leaning against a wall for fifteen minutes (she had four children in ten years). :-D (not that I am saying it hasn't worked for anyone else).

Shorty
I never realized that when someone hasn't had kids it's not necessarily because the don't want kids. Now that I have been off BC for 7 months and no sign of pregnancy, I can relate to all those women out there trying! It really sucks. You wonder "what's wrong with me"..the worst part about it is that now my husband is having second thought about the pregnancy thing and wants to hold off another 6 months so that we can travel! Ugh....unbelievable. I bet no one has heard of such a crazy thing! Does that make sense to anyone out there? Well, now I will be more courteous when asking someone when they are going to have kids!!!
