Nuva Ring over oral contraceptive anyday!!!
I've been using the Nuva Ring for 5 months after trying 2 different oral contraceptives. The reason for changing was the side effects were not worth it. Grumpy, detached, loss of libido and very mild cramping for 2 weeks of the month. The only time I felt good and happy was during the non-active pills and I had my period then so the whole months was always hindered with something.
The Nuva Ring offers a much lower dose and much milder side effects but still affects libido so I'm now going to get an IUD. I'd recommend the Nuva Ring to anyone taking oral contraceptive that has mild to no side effects. You'll love the diffrence.

Loved birth control but would like a change.
When I did use BC I used the pill. I liked it because I knew I didnt have to worry about anything. It made my periods shorter, lighter and it kept my skin clear. Now I am no longer taking it because I have been taking it for 8 years and I am tired. Plus it gives me HORRIBLE mood swings that I felt were uncontrollable. I am thinking of using either the nuva ring or condoms.

IUD for me
I was on depo for about 10 years, i loved it but am now dealing with Osteopenia at 40. I've opted for the IUD, (no progesterone). I really don't need anything because my husband has lost total interest in sex. I haven't had any problems with the IUD. Cramping is not near what I expected.

NFP & Moon Blood
We have 6 kids. I am a firm believer in Natural Family Planning. Our last three- ages 9, 3, and 10 months- were results of fastidious tracking. Especially once I was paying attention to lunar cycles. Aside from condoms on my fertile days, once I return to a regular cycle (I'm breastfeeding now so my periods are not "normal") we rely only on NFP. As you can see by the spacing of ourchildren, it has worked well for us. How about everyone else? Anyone else regulate their cycle by lunar observation? This is something I am very interested in-as a practitioner and as a student of anthropology. I am thinking of doing some serious research on this.
