When do you take a pregnancy test?

At what point during your cycle do you take a pregnancy test? If you are trying to conceive do you wait the Two Week Wait, or do you start testing earlier? Or, if you're not trying to conceive, how late are you when you start testing?

When do you take a pregnancy test?

Frustration Impatient

I have a 31-32 day cycle and I'm heading onto day 43 tomorrow. I was really stressing out but now I'm just waiting patiently for AF to show up. I did 4 HPT's and one was a faint positive. The others are all negative. So I'm not sure if it was a faint positive or if it was evap lines. I have to say though that I've never ever had an evap line and I've been pg 4 times(3 boys now and one miscarriage inbetween the first two). My SIL has never ever had evap lines either so I'm slightly skeptical. If anyone has any info or opinions on this please feel free to comment etc. I usually wait till I'm 6 wks along before testing as that's how far along I was with my first son and with my second son I never did get a positive HPT. I had to go to the Dr's office to have it confirmed as I was positive I was pg and I was right. I got a pos with my last son so I'm hoping I get some answers soon!

When do you take a pregnancy test?

2 days after

I've been pregnant twice. I had a miscarriage the first time and the second time lead to my healthy 3 year old daughter. I am married, but neither of my above mentioned pregnacies were planned. I have a normal 28 day cycle so when my period was 2 days late, I tested. By this point, I didn't even have to wait the 3 minutes. As soon as I held the stick up, I had a plus sign. I just started officially trying for baby number 2 this past weekend, so now I have the two week wait. I'm not used to this wait and its killing me! I too want to go ahead and take a pregnancy test! :) But from what I've read, there is no point. I've got to wait it out until at least 5 days before my period is due despite the fact that I already feel tenderness in my chest. We shall see. My mind could be playing games on me! I am going to use one of those early pregnancy tests 4 or 5 days before just to see :)

When do you take a pregnancy test?

Hold on if you can, you get more accurate results that way.

Most tests recommend that you wait until you have missed your first day of the expected period before you test. They claim to be sensitive enough to tell up to 5 days prior to your missed period. But the accuracy is lower, gradually getting better odds if you wait until the actual missed day. I know how you feel, I am roughing it out waiting too. Good luck!

When do you take a pregnancy test?

I'm trying to wait

I'm only on CD 20. And it's sooo hard to wait the next few days....
I usually have a 28 day cycle. I bought a 2 pack PT and it's sitting in my bathroom. It's very tempting to go in and just take the test! But I'm trying not to get too excited and wait it out
