Mom and Intro to Periods
How would you say your mom did during your early period years? Exceptional job, making you feel comfortable with your period? Or could she have used some work in that department? Will you do things differently if you have a daughter?
my mum was great

My mum was great - I was on holiday when I started and I was terrified and emotional and annoyed at being forced to realise I was growing up, but the first thing I did was tell my mum who was on the beach sunbathing at the time. She calmed me down, asked if I was ok and asked if I wanted her to come back to the apartment with me, which we did. She had never really explained any of that - including all the stuff about sex and that 'talk' - but I had picked up all I needed to know from school and the people around me, so I didn't need her to, but it was really easy just to talk to her about it when it happened and ever since then I have always discussed it with her openly and she has always answered any questions I have had. She even did me the big favour of telling my dad for me, even though I didn't ask her too, but he went to the shops a few times for me when I had run out of pads and is always sympathetic when I get cramps, so I owe both my parents a lot on that front. I hope my daughter feels as close to me and feels she can talk as openly to me as I can to my parents - it's a real blessing.
