Meeting with a dietician helped!!

Posted by: Linda27 on Mon Dec 8, 2008
I had to meet with a dietician because I was eating everything in sight. She told me that my appetite had increased because my metabolism had also and once I have my period, the cravings will disappear. And she is of course dead on! As soon as I get my period, my appetitie returns to normal. However, PMS symptoms normally last 1 week. I crave carbs - potatoes, rice, bread, pasta - you name it. I learned to like brown rice and whole grain pasta. Those items are filling and stick with me a lot longer than white flour. My dietician recommended that I wait a few minutes if I have a craving to see if it will pass. If the craving is still there (in my case it usually is) I should go ahead and eat that food item, but slowly. This seems to work. In addition to that, taking a multivitamin along with Omega 3 really helps! I find that nowadays, my cravings are more under control.
