Conception Frustrations?
If you're trying to conceive and it's taking longer than you had hoped, what frustrations are you running into? Is it that just about everyone around you seems to be pregnant? Or, something someone said? Or, is you-know-who (your mom, his mom...) pressuring you or asking when way too often? Does it sometimes feel like TTC is more like Trying to Cope?

A month is such a long time and question on progesterone!

Posted by: expectmiracles on Sun Dec 28, 2008
Hi everyone,

I have a question and wanted to see if anyone had any insight - I'm needing it badly! My husband and I have been TTC since July. I went off the pill in May and after that, had irregular cycles ranging from 23-30 days and had spotting/light bleeding that would be anywhere from 4-10 days before my period would start. In October, my doctor put me on a progesterone supplement to help regulate my cycle and the bleeding. It seems to have worked - no more pre-bleeding and cycles that are now 27-29 days. Here's my question. I'm on these supplements from days 12-23 in my cycle. I recently read that if you're on progesterone, you are to take AFTER ovulation. But if I'm ovulating anywhere from day 12 on, I'm already on the progesterone and wondering if it's hurting our chances of getting pregnant?!

I never realized how long a month truly was until we started trying to get pregnant. Wait to try, wait to find out if we're pregnant, find out we're not and wait to try again. Like many of you, I seem to be surrounded by people who have no problem getting pregnant and while I am happy for them, it's so hard to just keep waiting and hoping, only to be let down again and again.

Any insight on this would be so appreciated. I'll be calling my dr. tomorrow, but am antsy to hear if the days I'm taking this supplement are messing things up worse. Wondering if I should go off it and see if my body has had time to regulate itself! Thank you!
