Severe change in cycles after m/c - anyone else???

Posted by: itsjustmandi on Tue Apr 14, 2009
I am 32 years old - well, I will be in May and I had a miscarriage after being pregnant for only 5/12 weeks about 5 months ago. I had always had relatively easy periods before then, and they were really really regular - 28 days before my 1st pregnancy, and then 26 days before this m/c. So I started my period roughly a month after the m/c and the next 3 periods weren't bad, but they were like 23 days apart. So I waited the recommended 3 periods before ttc again, and low and behold i was late for that 4th period. But it ended up coming after like 30 days, and all the HPT's came back neg, so I know it wasn't another m/c. That period and the last I have had have been simply awful, accompanied by heavy bleeding that lasts for about 5 or 6 days, and the cramps come and go throughout the month. I have had moderate ovarian pain around the time of ovulation, and these last two periods were around 29-30 days apart. So what in the heck? I am sick of worrying and the doc can't get me in until the end of this month, which is my regular yearly check-up. They did ultrasounds when I had the m/c - could i have developed cysts since then? Or worse, cancer? Although I know that ovarian cancer can be hard to diagnose anyway, I guess they would not have found that with a simple ultrasound. Oh, and the doc never once mentioned me having a D&C which I thought was due to the face that the pregnancy was so brief. This is just so annoying and frustrating. I just feel like even when I do get to the doctor, I won't have the answers I need. Is there anyone else out there who has experienced such a change in their cycles after a m/c? And if so, what was the reason? I'm just looking for a little comfort until that appointment which is in about 2 weeks.
