Anyone have experience using a fertility monitor?

I have really irregular periods. The first 4 months I went off the pill I was ranging anywhere from 31-35 days but then last month it was 47 days. I got a Clear Blue Easy Fertility monitor hoping this would help figure out my ovulation days. I finally got a high reading yesterday (day 24) but then today it was back down to low. Has anyone else had experience using this monitor? I was about to give up for the month and thought I hadn't ovulated since I was so late into my cycle. I'm not sure why I only got 1 day of high reading.
