Trying to find out about ov monitors

So I havent been ttc for very long, but we tried last year for about 4 months, and have just started ttc again this month. I have REALLY irregular periods, not sure why but I do. Does anyone know of any good but inexpensive ov monitor's? And has anyone used an ov monitor while irregular and had success? Im just skeptical about spending the money for it not to work due to my irregularity.
