You, TTC, and Your Partner
Your Trying to Conceive partner is, of course, there physically. Is he also emotionally supportive, especially if you get a BFN when you hoped this would be the month? Is he open to on-going TTC related talk when you want/need it?

Giving up on TTC

Posted by: srvixen on Fri May 21, 2010
I know that my DH and I haven't been trying for all that long, as we just reunited in Dec. 2009 after a year and 4 months apart and a couple of MCs now. But I can no longer handle the emotional roller coaster that TTC is bringing ... sadly enough this is not ups and downs from the failed attempts, the appearance of AF, or the constant BFNs.

This emotional inclines and super steep declines come from my DH ... it has been drilled into his culture that overweight women cannot have babies. So being a BBW, I have to suffer the comments that come from him each month when AF shows. Comments such as "If you were skinnier I could easily get you pregnant." and "if you were skinny it would be easy to have babies." No matter the fact that I have PCOS, and a 10 year old from before, whom I conceived while being overweight ... instead his mother's words and his culture's words have been drilled into his head and he is not being too kind with them towards me. Grated his culture is to be bold and outspoken, but that doesn't make them hurt any less.

So with that I am not going to even think about babies, TTC and wanting to have more children. Instead I will just focus on my courses for my Bachelors' degree, and my online job, and if it happens, it happens. I cannot handle the added stress that he places upon me about my weight, when it is not an issue other then when we are TTC.

Good luck to all you ladies trying, and most importantly *~*~*~* LOBD *~*~*~* to you all!
