LH surge question

This may be a weird question but I'm just curious.
I have an ovulation predictor test that tell when you hit your LH surge & once you have an lh surge you will likely ovulate within 12-36 hours, but I'm curious if I took an ovulation predictor test the day after I ovulated would it still show an LH surge?
If it works that way then that would give me a better idea of when I ovulated.
I think I ovulated either sunday or monday, but I'm not sure. I didnt test on friday, but I tested sunday & monday with an LH surge & this morning (tuesday) I didnt have an lh surge anymore. I guess it would be easier to just do the basal body temp thing but I always forget when I wake up so yea lol. I did have sex sunday morning & monday night so I'm crossing my fingers that I get pregnant this time, but well see :)
