Waiting for Ovulation Time

Hi ladies. I'm on CD13 today and we are ttc. I've been using the ovulation kits from the dollar tree. Still not a positive, but we are trying every other day up until day 22. My friends doctor told her to try everyday - days 8 - 18 and she got pregnant right away. I have two jobs and he works late hours so every other day in the CD 8 - 22 time frame will have to do. Anyone in a similar stage right now?
