No Periods, Less Periods
Period suppression is currently a very hot topic. Will you (or do you already) take prescription meds to stop your period, or to have less periods a year? Why or why not?

No Periods, Less Periods
Not for me
At times I think it would be nice to choose to not have a period, but for health reasons, I would not take meds to suppress it. A woman's body was meant to do certain things for certain reasons, and having a period is one of those.

No Periods, Less Periods
When I was young yes, now no
When I was a teen, my periods were horrible - very painful, nauseous - I frequently stayed home from school on the first day. I started BCP when I was 16 and took them up to a year ago (I'm 31), there were two very short breaks, a couple months each in my early twenties. Up until a year ago I would have said yes, and actually had contemplated period suppression, but now I would have to say no.
DH and I are currently TTC and in the year off BCP my periods have not been that bad, some mild cramping is usually the worst of it. I would like to never go back to hormonal birth control (though I loved NuvaRing). In our attempts to conceive I've learned lots about tracking fertility and feel this could be an effective was to also avoid pregnancy, espcially since after a year we are still trying.

No Periods, Less Periods
Less periods are better then No period!
I dont think I would go without a period ever again, after having my first son I got on the depo shot and that makes your period stop completely....and this made me gain so much wieght I was wieghing about the same amount when I was 9 months pregnant....so if I have to choose I would go for having a lesss of a period instead of no period at all.....Bad expereance!

No Periods, Less Periods
Depo-Provera
The birth control I take can stop your period in its track. Its nice to only get bloated for a few days and sometimes a little crabby. I take Depo-Provera. It doesn't stop everyone's periods, but it did indeed stop mine!

No Periods, Less Periods
not again!!
actually my periods are very heavy during the second and third full mentrual day. sometimes i get bad cramps and feel nauseous, like my previous one. i do not look forward to having the next one at all. i wish there was a safer way to maybe not eliminate periods, but perhaps make them lighter and quite possibly more bearable!!
