Feminine Protection Usage
What was the first type of feminine protection you used - pads, tampons, menstrual cup? Do you still use the same feminine protection, or did you switch completely - when, why?

The End Is In Sight!
I first tried to use tampons, but not with much success. So it was pads until I was a bit older. Then I started using tampons. Since then, because of heavy flow early on in my periods, I used pads for the first couple of days, then switch to tampons with a liner. I have tried menstrual cups. They're ok, but fiddly and I didn't find them suitable for heavy flow. I'm having a lot of problems with heavy bleeding and clotting and am opting for uterine ablation. Can't wait to get it done! Periods will be very light or non existent afterwards. With my family complete and a business to run, I don't need the aggravation every month any more.

Definitely a maxi pad user!
I am in my mid-30's and still very much prefer maxi pads over tampons. I use tampons and pads together on my heavy flow days, but just pads on lighter flow days. For some reason, I've never found tampons to be terribly comfortable and find that a maxi pad makes me feel more secure somehow. I also tend to use panty liners many non-menstrual days as well to keep my panties feeling cleaner and fresher

Tampon Freedom!
I used pads for the first time and up until about six months ago, I SWORE I would never use a tampon! I tried once, and it was one of those uncomfortable kinds so I was totally against them!
But, recently, for some reason, I decided to try one of those types of tampons with the plastic applicators, and lo and behold, it worked for me! I have never looked back! I feel a freedom I never felt before during my period because I do not have the bulky pad, which I once felt was a sense of security for me. Now I do not think all the time, "Oh, I am on my period"...

Recent Transition
Just like most everyone else I began with pads, then slowly used tampons sparingly. I was never comfortable with tampons and never fully trusted their abilities. Recently, I purchased a menstrual cup. Once I got used to it, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I feel so much cleaner than with a pad or tampon. The most I use with the cup is a panty liner and usually it gets disposed of while it is still clean and dry.

Search for Menstrual Products
My first attempt was with pads (like most girls). I've gradually integrated tampons into the mix but I'm constantly worried about a leak so I still have to wear a pantyliner, which defeats the purpose. I just ordered my first mentrual cup today...i'm so excited! I've heard nothing but good reviews. Hopefully this will be the last stop on my search for a good product.

PADS!!
When I first started I used pads. I still do and probably will forever. I tryed tampons but it feels really uncomfortable with a string hanging between your legs. I never heard of a menstrual cup and I didn't know they had cloth pads.
