When Did You Decide Baby Names?
At what point did you select the name that you actually gave your baby? Before you were pregnant, during pregnancy, after delivery?

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
Changed my mind
My husband and I chose not to find out the sex of our baby, we never could really decide on a boys name. We had a girls name picked out until I was 18 hours into my labor. I started to change my mind and when the baby came and was a Girl, it wasn't until she was almost an hour old that we decided to name her Ella Grace. That by the way was a name we had never even mentioned during my pregnancy, it was wierd, but we love the name and she is such an Ella

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
A story for each name
With my first daughter I decided on her name at 24 weeks. I knew a little girl named Camaree and I liked the name along with Amore and decided to name my daughter Amaree. My best friend was pregnant with a little girl also and we decided to name our daughters names that rhymed, so her middle name became Anaya and my best friend named her daughter Sanaiya.
My second daughter was named Kylin Nicole at 18 weeks when we found out she was a girl. I liked the name Kaylin but had a prinipal named that so Kylin was the next best thing and Nicole is my sister's middle name.
Breelyn Kyree is a combination of both of my daughters' names and I named the baby that my husband and I lost in February of this year. We didn't know if it was a boy or a girl but the name could be for either a boy or a girl.

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
My daughters name...
When I first found out I was pregnant, my partner and I couldn't get excited, we were too scared, as I had previously miscarried at 12 weeks, so we took each day at a time. It wasn't until it was nearing 20 weeks that we looked through baby name books, when I started to find out from my midwife that the baby was doing very well and not to worry as all seemed ok.
When I went for my 20 week scan we were hoping to find out whether we were going to have a boy or a girl, we were told due to the way the baby was lying they weren't entirely sure, so I had to walk around for 20 minutes to see if the baby would change position so they could have a better look, of course, the baby wasn't moving anywhere so we were told it was more likely it was a girl from what could be seen on the scan. But my partner and I both had a feeling I was carrying a girl...
So we looked through lists of girls names, but kept a couple of boys names just in case!
I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in March 2005, who we decided to name, Lauren!!
We also decided to have 2 middle names for her, one very traditional, chosen by my partner, and the other named after my nan, who was and still is absolutely chuffed to bits with!!

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
"And the winner is..."
My boyfriend and I couldn't find a name we both agreed on. When I finally went into labor we both had a list of about 10 names each. While I was in active labor we passed the lists back and forth removing one name at a time, we were down to two names when it was time to push. A day later we still hadn't decided which name should be his fist name. Finally we took the two names and put them in a hat and shook it until one fell out, that became his first name. Now Brayden Dylan is almost 2!

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
6 years old
Everybody was convinced I was going to have a girl. I think mainly because I had a girls name picked out from the time I was old enough to play barbies, probably 6 years old. My husband and I weren't so sure, but we couldn't think of any boy names we liked so we just decided for simplicitys sake we were having a girl. My best birthday happened to be when I found out the sex of the baby and sure enough it was a boy! I was thinking to myself, ok, now we have to find a boy name we like! As we walked out of the office hand in hand, my husband said, "I have it and it's non-negotiable. His name is Russell Mitchell" Lucky for me I absolutely LOVED the name! It fits my son very nicely and I couldn't be more happy with the name.

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
Finally Decided on a Baby Name
With my son, my water broke 5 days before I went into preterm labor at the end of my 6th month. I had not thought much about a name until I was in the hospital. Finally, before I gave birth, I had a name picked out and was able to name him while he was in the NICU.
