Feminine Protection Usage
What was the first type of feminine protection you used - pads, tampons, menstrual cup? Do you still use the same feminine protection, or did you switch completely - when, why?

pads vs tampons
I can't do pads. Since I always wear things, they just don't work and they feel like a diaper. Tampons for me. Easy to use and very discreet. No worries

Fem Protection Usage
I started out using tampons during the day and pads at night and only in the house. Recently started using cloth pads; I like the way that they feel against my skin. Very comfortable and also good for the environment. Cloth pads not only save the environment, but also save me alot of money!! I tend to flow "heavily" and was spending plenty of money for "protection." Not any more... I would like to try the menstrual cup next and maybe the sponge. I will try almost anything once.

cloth convert
i used mostly disposable pads in the beginning and occasionally tampons. i didn't like them all that much. for the past 6 mo or so i have been using cloth pads. they're so much more comfortable than disposables, and i know they're better for my body. washing them really hasn't been a bother, and i don't have to worry about running out of pads and having to go to the store during the middle of the night. i also have a menstrual cup but i guess i haven't figured out the best insertion yet, i still have some problems with it leaking and what not. i would like to try some different kinds of pads though because the ones i have can be a bit bulky.

Pads Mostly
I had used tampons when first starting out. Then as I got older I went to pads. I only use tampons now when I know I am going swimming.

Mostly pads for me.
I started out using only pads, then switched to tampons at about age 16. Now i use mostly pads again unless I have to go out of the house for more than an hour or so. I find that tampons are easier on the go to travel with. but pads are more comfortable for me.
I have not tried the cups yet and after reading another posters view on them I might have to give them a try.

Pads + Tampons
I started with pads. I remember the first summer was awful trying to wear a bathing suit with a pad and have it not stick out the sides. And also forgetting I'd have the pad on and jumping into the pool. Yuck. So I started to also use tampons, taking them from my older sister's box. I remember spending a lot of time in the bathroom studying the "how to insert" tampon directions! I continue to use a combination choosing whichever is best for the type of flow and what I'll be wearing.
