When Did You Decide Baby Names?
At what point did you select the name that you actually gave your baby? Before you were pregnant, during pregnancy, after delivery?

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
competition goes deep, while deciding on a baby name!:-)~
I fell in love with the name Nolee when I saw a myscene barbie on a big lots shelf........i researched the name. i kept it to myself and suggested Brooklyn Maylee. my SO, well, he fell in love with Brooklyn and got hung up on it! We argued about her name even after I gave birth(we are very competitive:-)) She was about 9 hours old before we agreed on a name, we split the difference- he got Brooklyn and I got Nolee.......thus Brooklyn Nolee was born unto us, forever know as this name. Although, I did kind of win in the end. We call her Nolee!lol

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
Charlie boy
We decided on Charlie for our son while I was pregnant. We found out we were having a boy and from then we didn't talk about 'the baby' we always spoke about Charlie which was actually really lovely. Even our parents would ask how everything with Charlie was ok after scans and tests.

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
The bet
My daughters name wasnt decided until she was born.
A few months into my pregnancy I chose the name Kylie and everyone liked it. Then the last month of my pregnancy I decided that wasnt what I wanted to name her. ( I found out during the ultrasound she was a girl ) So the fight began. My boyfriend and I agreed on a name, and my entire family hated it- a lot! So I chose the name Lacee and everyone but my boyfriend loved the name. He said no-way.
One night I called my boyfriend, and he was out drinking with his freinds, and wasnt supposed to be since I was on bedrest and the baby could come at any time. I told him on the phone if he was drunk when our daughter was born she would be named Lacee. ( We were just out of high school) I ended up going into labor (3 weeks early) an hour after that conversation with him and she was born two short hours after that. The doctor asked my boyfriend the minute our baby was born what her name was, and he answered Lacee!

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
Choosing a name
My partner and I were up late one night talking and decided to choose baby names. It was very random as we weren't even TTC. We picked a boys name and a girls name, as well as names in case of twins, (twins run in both our family's), a week later I missed my period and took a test, and it was positive. I am so excited and can't wait to experience everything.

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
We decided on a girls name at least! :)
My husband & I have had our baby names picked out since before we got married. We're not TTC just yet, but we have tossed a few names around. He asked me what I thought of Alina for a girl. I loved the name right away. I think I would give her my middle name, Louise, because it's 3 generations old in my family, and named after my great-grandma who has passed away 3 years ago. She was very dear to me and I think she would have liked to see her great-great grand daughter keep the name in her honor. We are still debating on boy's names, though!

When Did You Decide Baby Names?
The Old Fashioned Way
I plan on deciding my baby's name 6 mo to 1 yr after delivery. This is how it was done in many previous generations, partly because once you name something (like a lost kitten) you are attached to it, and babies frequently died before their first birthday back then. But also I think children should be name based on who they are. That's what "naming" is, isn't it? And unless we are bible characters, it is difficult to describe someone when they've just been born.
