No Periods, Less Periods
Period suppression is currently a very hot topic. Will you (or do you already) take prescription meds to stop your period, or to have less periods a year? Why or why not?

No Periods, Less Periods
Don't always take short road.
You know when I was younger I would've killed for any suppliment to stop my period, but recently I realized what my body has gone through over these years and now I would do almost anything to get normality back.

No suppression
No I would not suppress my period. I beleive in letting nature run its natural course. I have enough trouble staying on track with my period seeing it come monthly is a relief to say the least.

No Periods, Less Periods
I loved not having my period
I don't see anything wrong with it. I did it for about a year and a half - never had weight problems, never experienced mood swings worse than normal, and the cramps were oh so blessedly gone. It was fantastic. I ended up going off the pill due to constant moving and being unable to get a prescription from my doctor (since I was always out of the country, not for medical reasons), but I'm definately going to go back to doing it eventually. I don't see why people think it's so wrong to suppress your period - if you don't ovulate and don't build up a menstrual lining, well... It's wasted blood and wasted "feminine hygiene" products.

No Periods, Less Periods
not a good idea!
never! After being on the pill for a few years and going off, I had amenorrhea for 2 years. I learned from that horrific experience that not having a period really messes with one's body. My balance, mood, everything was affected, and I truly began to feel as how my mom described menopausal symptoms felt. I now believe in avoiding non-natural hormones, so I refuse to go on the pill again, only other contraception is ok with me. Having a period is a precious thing.

No Periods, Less Periods
Depends on the reason for none.
I've read some of the comments and understand were people are coming from. But I was on Depo for almost 6 yrs. but not as a form of BC I was on it b/c the migraine headaches got to bad. I was have 3 or 4 a month and they would take me out of commision for at least 2 days. Try holding down a job where you are taking at least one sick day a week. Once the depo took effect I went from the 3 or 4 migraines a month to 4 or so a year. My periods cause major hormon fluctuations which cause the migraines. the depo stops your cycle by making your body think it is pregnant. The downfall to depo was that I did gain weight and am now having problems getting it back off. I went off Depo in May 06'. My cycles returned by August 06' and I am back to migraines again. But my husband and I are TTC and I will have to deal with them until I am pg. the only problem I have now is the med I take to get rid of the migraine says you shouldn't take it if you are ttc. So into the Dr. I go again to see if there is something else I can try.

No Periods, Less Periods
No No No
Even though I knew that I would be getting my period near my wedding date, I never considered suppressing it even for that one cycle. It is 100% un-natural. Don't do it. I am sure those that do will one day regret it.
