Embarrasing Menstrual Situation

When I was about 12 going on 13 I got my frist period. That summer I was going to cheer camp, and wasn't anticpating such occurances. (Though I think it had appeared a month before, but didn't actually realize it) Anyways, about the 2nd day into the camp, I got my period and it was pretty heavy. I was in the bathroom and the girl who was the mascot so happened to be in there. When I found out that I had my period, I totally freaked out. She overheard me freaking out and ran off to tell my coach. Trying to deal with the fact that my period had arrived i was totally oblivous to the fact that the girl had told my entire squad AND the HS squad. Later that evening, both squads surpised me with a "first-period" party. Its fun but at the same time pretty embarrassing. Another thing that was pretty embarassing is that my PE coach/Bible class teaacher is married to my coach, and he was the one who went out to buy the pads for me. But it was quite a bit for my entire squad to know that I was on my period.

I was in the 8th grade and I only had my period a couple of months. Didnt know when it was gonna show up! Well I got to school went to the bathroom there it is. So I ran to the nurses office got a pad My mom wouldnt let me use tampons so she had noted it to the nurse when I signed up Embarrasing.

So I have this pad on and My next class is gym I didnt want to participate because of my period and I told the gym teacher and he just laughed and told me to get in line. Well The activities we were doing that day were excersises. The activity I had to do was jumping jacks and boy i'll tell u I bout fell to the floor as I was doing the jumping jacks my pad fell out of my shorts and everyone saw!!!! Everyone was laughing and i picked it up and RAN! I got sent home that day and after that The gym teacher told me I can sit out if I make up the lesson.

so here it is. i was in high school and in home ec class. the bell rang and i got up to leave the class when i found out i had practically hemmorrhaged. there was blood every where. soaked through my pants and all over the chair i was sitting in. i was cramping bad but didn't think i was bleeding that bad. so i get up and the teacher, who didn't like me, kind of helps out. a couple of girls stayed behind to help me clean everything up. two boys were coming into the classroom for their home ec hour and they saw what was going on and just waited outside. i was so sure they were going to tell everyone but i don't know if they ever did. i mean i never got made fun of or anything. so they were really mature about the whole thing. my mom came and got me and i stayed home the rest of the day. oh and the teacher gave me a shirt to wrap around my waist and the chair i sat in, in the office i left two spots of blood. yea i got to see those for the rest of high school every time i went in the office, which wasn't too often.

I can clearly remember when I was in the sixth grade. I was a newbie "woman" and I did NOT like wearing pads. I wanted to wear the thinnest protection possible. In the late 80s, there was not that much available and my mom would NOT let me wear tampons. Anyways...I thought my period was over when I got up one morning and put on a pantyliner. My mom told me that this was not enough, but I stubbornly told her that it was fine. Well, the entire grade got to watch a movie after lunch that day at school. While we were sitting there, I could feel something... I thought "Oh my God. Please don't let this be!!!" Well, it was. I was deathly afraid of getting up, so I stupidly sat there. When the movie was finally over, I got up and the seat was covered with blood and so was the back of my pants and the middle. I had on a t-shirt, but it wasn't long enough to cover my back. I tried to be the last one out of the auditorium/cafeteria and scooted to class, all the while pulling my shirt down as far as it would go. The nurse gave me a pad, but nothing could be done for my clothes. Suffice it to say that I NEVER ignored my mother's menstrual advice again. I also learned to warn my friends WHENEVER I saw a stain on their clothes so they would not be horribly embarrassed like me. I would advise girls and women to always carry extra protection. :)

Crazy, when I was 21 (yes, 21!!) i was staying all night at my friend and her new boyfriend's apartment. They had just gotten a brand new sofa and invited me to sleep on it. That morning, early, before dawn, I woke up cramping and feeling something wet and when I turned on the light, I had started my period and a quarter-size drop of blood was on their new sofa!!!!!! I felt terrible. I got in the bathroom and got a wet washcloth and scrubbed it out, then turned the sofa cushion over so that the wet spot would not be visible. I could hear my friend's boyfriend mumble something, and then I heard my friend say, "I don't know what she's doing.." I did confess it to my girlfriend later. I felt horrible about the whole thing but there was no stain left.

I have had embarrassing situations for most of my life. I think the most embarrassing, was when I was a young teenager. I was in track and without warning in the middle of a long distance run my period started and dripped down my legs for all to see. I could hear girls talking about it in the locker room afterward. That was more than embarrassing, it was humiliating.
