Positively Period
Talk menstrual cycle and we talk lots of negatives: period days, cramps, the PMS blues...

But is there anything, or even many things, that you like about your monthly cycles?

Letting it Go

Posted by: Fluffbug on Thu May 10, 2007
I really enjoy the, for me necessary, monthly reminder that it is time to let go of things that are no longer useful to me, and make room for creation and creativity. I'm not doing anything so literal as TTC, but my period is a time every month that I stop and take stock of what is working for me in my life and what is not. I think about things that I have been doing or holding onto that no longer serve me in a purposeful way, and let them go as my body let's go of all the junk it's been saving up for a baby that didn't come and therefore it has no use for. I enjoy the feeling of release and cleansing that I experience with every gush.

I also really tap into my womanhood, not in a I'm-so-much-more-powerful-than-man way, but in a way that honors and values my unique abilities without devaluing the abilities of the wonderful man who rubs my belly, whether I have cramps or not.

For me, it is a time of self-relection, cleansing, and rejuventaion that prepares me for all my womanly duties throughout the rest of my cycle.
