Menarche Ceremony
Did you have a menarche (first period) ceremony? What was it like? Who was there? What gifts did you get? If you have a daughter, will you (or did you) give her a menarche ceremony?

No Ceremony.. Why?

I did not have a ceremony. It didn't mean that my mother did not view this as a special event. I personally would have been embarrased. I never found this to be a life altering event. I've had cramps, etc for years now! Getting my period did not make me feel like a 'woman' since I was all of 11 years. If I have a daughter, I would not celebrate it.
