Slippy Tampons?

It just so happened the week of my first period, we had a middle school class trip to Niagra Falls and Canada. When preparing for the trip, my Mom and I picked out some discreet plastic applicator tampons that I could easily carry in my pocket. Well, I should have reviewed the directions better. I was so frustrated because if I didn't walk with my thighs pressed together, the whole tampon slid out. What was going on?! After the trip and a gazillion tampons later, I figured out that I was supposed to push the tampon out of the applicator, not just use the little stick part to push the tampon and plastic applicator part inside. No wonder they slipped out and absorbed nothing! The whole trip my friends thought I'd lost it because I kept ducking into restrooms and walking like a little penguin.
