Am I pregnant? Or just psyching myself out?

I have been off birth control for a year and a half and my husband and I have been trying for the last 3 months. I am a day late but not getting any of the normal symptoms of my period. But I also haven't gotten any symptoms of pregnancy either. I have taken a test and it didnt show a blue line but that window had a bluish tint (or maybe it was my imagination because I want it to be positive so bad!) I called my dr and cannot get an appt with her till the 28th. I have been spotting the last 2 days and a few days before that it was brown muscus discharge. Is it possible it's too early for the test to show or am I just hoping too much?
