To test or not to test?

Hi all!
I am in need of someone to talk to about what's going on with me right now, so here it goes.

I have been off the pill for about 7 months. Since then my periods have been about 32-34 days. The longest I ever had was right when I got off the pill, which lasted 41 days.

Currently, I am on CD 43! Absolutely no normal signs of period. We have been trying for 6 months total. I have been let down so many times with BFNs and I am scared to have this happen again. It makes me feel like such a failure :(

For about 5 days I have been experiencing VERY sore/tender nipples, and 3 days ago I went in to work at 6:00 a.m. absolutely nauseated. I had to dash for the bathroom a couple of times, thinking I was about to be sick right there. Not to mention, I have been sleeping until at least 10:40 a.m. reguardless of what time I go to bed. Sometimes I'll sleep until nearly noon. This is really unusual for me.

Ladies, what do you think? Has something similar occured to anyone and ended with a BFP!?

I'm kind of loosing hope here. Especially since all the women in my family are always able to get pregnant whenever they choose to start trying.

I am thinking about going to pick up some tests today. I am just so nervous about it. Being let down about BFN is the worst.

Please give me some guidance!
