Little bit confused

I am slighty confused my last period was on the 31st aug and it lasted for 5days which is weird in it's self because I usually last for 7days. I also spotted on 15th,16th and 17th I wouldn't really call it spotting it was more brown discharge( sorry for the tmi). I was due on the 23rd which puts me at 9 days late. I have done 2 preg tests but both came up negative. If anyone can give me there advice it would be greatly appreciated.
