Negative hpt and missed periods

Hey I have not had a period since 11/17/2011 and I have taking many pregnancy tests and all came back neg. However, I know that this is going to sound crazy but, my husband brought it to my attention that i was even late. Due to me working and going to school I have not even stopped to think about it, But now I'm starting to worry. I am having some Signs of being pregnant, but still negative test. I have made an appt. for blood work, but is it normal to take test if pg and they come up neg? If I am I think that I would be somewhere around 12-13 weeks, but I don't even know what to expect. If you have any advise that would help, I would love to hear it.
