implantation or random bleeding..

hi.
Myself and my boyfriend have been trying to conceive for 2yrs, we have constantly been having unprotected sex but getting no where. :(
I started my last period on june 24th, my cycle is 28 days, so i know i'm not due for another 4 days, but on cycle day 18, i had bleeding, as tho my period was beginning. could this be just coincedence or by any chance would it have been implantation bleeding?
i've never been pregnant before so i'm not sure but trying to wait impatiently for good news, while setting myself up to break the fall at the same time...
