SAHM or Working Mom?

Did you (or will you) stop working and be a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM)? Why or why not? Any regrets in your decision, like do you find yourself wanting to go back to work, or in the middle of a meeting do you wish you were home instead? What would you tell other mom-to-bes who are considering being a SAHM - do it or not?

SAHM or Working Mom?

I want both.

I'm going to attempt both. I work shift work and will be doing straight evenings. I'll have all morning with my little girl and then she's off to the grandparents until daddy picks her up. The bonus is that I'll be off every 2 days. Then, every six weeks, I get a week off. I could never leave her for 5 days every week - it would be torture! So, lucky for me, it looks like I might be getting the best of both worlds!

SAHM or Working Mom?

being a sahm or working mom

I am the mommy of the best little boy ever:) i have mixed thoughts on being a SAHM, i would love to stay at home with him, cause when you get to thinking about it you daycare provied has your childern more that you do throughout the week, i work 8:00 or 4:30, so when i get to thinking about that that makes me sad:(, but i dont know if i could handle staying at home day in and day out, i also think that would drive me nuts, but it might be a different story if my husband and i could afford for me to quite my job and stay home, so that is another factor that has to play in. If we had the money, for me to stay home, my son and i could go to the local pool and have a pool day of the libary you know just different activities, but we live 15 to 20 minutes from 2 different towns, and with gas prices its just to expensive, to hop in the car when ever you want. If i could have my cake and eat it to i would pick a job, that i could choose my own hours, where i could have time through the week to spend time the my little man, just a little man and mommy day!if i didnt spell something right sorry, just over look it:)

SAHM or Working Mom?

DO BOTH

why can't we be both???
i'm a SAHM and I run my own home daycare.
I never have to pay for childcare and I get to make money.
I used to work out of the house but most of my paycheque went to the babysitter.
I enjoyed working, it gave me a break from the kids and from my four walls but i also wanted to make sure my children were getting the proper care they deserved and learning what they needed before they started school.
Now I don't have to worry about it. And when I need a break I have my own babysitter for my days off.

SAHM or Working Mom?

SAHM of 2 1/2 yrs now

I am a SAHM of two little boys. We are keeping our fingers crossed that I am pregnant with our 3rd and that hopefully if am that it's a girl. My husband is in the Army, so it's the best thing we felt that way one of us is full time with the boys and that they know things that are going on. I really do love being home with my kdis but again at times I wish I was able to one find a job and two be away for a little bit of sanity at times. I really find it great and that it's really nice to be with your children and are able to watch them grow!!

SAHM or Working Mom?

Part Time Plan

I am trying to conceive our first child and I will most likely work part-time. I worked in early childhood ed for many years and I decided that I do not want my child to spend 40+++ hours a week with someone that is not part of our family. I currently work for a family business, as does my husband. I plan to take some time off and then work 2-3 days a week. My mother is certainly willing to take on some child-care responsibilities (the pressure is on to produce a grandchild) and I would love to find a quality daycare that I can use on a part-time basis. That's my plan, but as we all know its all up in the air until it actually happens. My husband gets very nervous about finances, but fortunately the other men in the family are very supportive of SAHM/SAHW's.

SAHM or Working Mom?

SAHM's Rule!!!

I tried to work outside the home but my heart and Head stayed home with my daughter....I listened to my heart and have not looked back!!!
If your husband is supportive and does not expect a live in servant... there is no better JOB on earth !
I love it!
