The monster!
I can definitely relate. PMS really is my monster. The bloating, headaches, aching breasts - and then the EVIL mood swings. I too try to lay low during the worst of it but my job requires travel so some months I'm front and center during the worst of it!!! Last month I was training all week and my boss was being difficult (as usual). After a whole day on my feet, depressed, anxious, bloated, achy and exhausted from listening to her whine, I snapped and yelled back! Not a smart thing to do!! Need to get this under control before I get myself fired. Have appointment with gyn - will post hersuggestions.

The monthly Monster
I really didn't become aware of the fact that I too got PMS...until I was about 19. My peroid really never bothered me until then, but it hit me like a ton of bricks! A week before, I get really moody, I snap at the smallest things, I am eating non-stop, my lower back hurts, I am bloated and hardly even feel like myself. I don't get cramps until the day that I actually start though, and they don't last long....Thank God!
It helps to take midol for the bloating and back aches or something of the like and believe it or not doing some sit ups really helps with the cramps!
When I was on birth control, I got PMS really bad. I am not currently on it, but my periods are 1-2 days longer and a little heavier now! What gives!?!?

Help the boy across the hall!!
Wow, I'm a freshman in college, and the boy that lives across the hall from me always knows when I'm PMSing. I get irritated easily, I'm always eating, I complain a lot, and most of the time I just don't want to be bothered. He tells me all the time that it affects him more than me, and all I do is look at him and tell him to get out of my face. It's really hard on me though! I can't concentrate in class, all I want to do is sleep and eat. Medicine does not work!!!

Lawd Have Mercy!!!!!!!!!
About 7 days before, I find myself taking inventory of everything that is wrong with me and I cry. I am getting pimples so bad, that at age 33, I look like a freshman in High School! I am usually an upbeat person, but at this time I really hate what I am seeing. I consider myself (On the norm), a sexy BBW (Big Beautiful woman), but now the BBW seems more like (big, bloated whale) LOL! I have to stop and look at the calendar when I am going through this and say to myself, whew!, Its just Aunt Flo on her way!! And then I go cry.....!

I hear you!
are they ever going to find cure for this thing? i suffer every month with mild depression, bloating, cramp( new thing since i turned 31), craving, etc....
workout, diet and water does help but it can be very hard to go to gym when you look 5 months preggers. I hear you ladies.
I drink plenty of clam tea from Tazo, raw veggies and fruits help as well. Try to take multivitamins and additional calcium with B complex.
I give lots of credit to those married with children, must be tough.

We don't have PMS...?
Why the heck would anyone fake PMS or think it was not real? Very ignorant! I have mood swings, swollen breasts that feel like they're gonna pop or fall off, hunger like a construction worker, migraines that would knock you off your butt, cramps like I was having a baby, blood clots the size of..well never mind it's gross, and not to mention no sleep, exhaustion, and then..ta da..my period. All this while managing to run a family and keep my day to day life going. PMS not for real? Honey, walk a day in our shoes and then see how you feel when you can't control what's going on with your body.
Women should be here to support eachother, not to poo poo our feelings. Hope to heck you're cycles keep staying heavenly, as for us PMS sufferers, hang in there, you have friends here!
