Herbal Supplements For Menstrual Cramps (That REALLY work)

Posted by: Debbier on Tue Jan 30, 2007
I've been suffering from terrible period cramps for some time now and I finally went to the doctor last month and was prescribed with Mefenamic Acid and have been referred to Gynae.

I do fine though, that taking some natural remedies help me with the pain. I take Dong Quai, along with Raspberry Leaf Tea tablets, Starflower Oil and Evening Primrose Oil (combined) for 7 days before my period is due and then throught my cycle.

These are all available from health stores such as Holland & Barrett (UK store), not sure about the US and other countries but I'm sure they are very easily obtainable.

I've been taking these for a few months now and they really do help, but you need to make sure you take them regularly on the lead up to your period, otherwise I find they do not work as well (which is why I am on Mefenamic Acid). I've been referred to Gynae because my Mum had a hysterectomy at 29 and I want to start a family this year (I am 30) and the Dr I saw just wanted to get things checked out and make sure everything is okay as she was a little concerned I had endometriosis.
