Embarrasing Menstrual Situation
Ever had a really embarrassing period experience? Did you tell anyone? What advice could you give others so it doesn't happen to them?

Embarrasing Menstrual Situation
The First Cut is the Deepest
Probably my most embarrassing period was my first one. It was the third day of 7th grade. I went to school in white shorts, came home, and went to the public library, no problem. That night, as I took off my clothes to take a bath, I noticed that a very large portion of my shorts was no longer white. It was red. I figured out what it was, and my mom confirmed it. My panties were ruined, and it took a lot of stain pre-treater to rehabilitate the shorts. There's no telling how long I went around that day in red-and-white shorts without anyone telling me! That was back when I didn't have a single menstrual cramp, and I hadn't felt a thing. No pain, no dripping, no wetness, nothing. Now I'm thankful that I have that "warning cramp!" Just wish the other cramps would go away... :)

Dont wear too big granny pannies!
I knew I was on my heaviest day so I THOUGHT I prepared myself. I threw on some baggy sweatpants, long tee shirt, a new maximum protection pad and drove to class. As soon as I stood up from getting out of the car I felt the dreaded "whoosh" but itstead of everything being caught, I started to feel it running down my leg, not one but both! I tried to walk as fast as I could down a major street w/ out looking drunk but I did the best I could.
I wobbled up onto the 2nd floor into the ladies bathroom and could see that it almost got to my sock! I cleaned up as much as I could and I luckily had a sweatshirt that I could wrap around my waist.
I could barely concentrate when I took my test. Wondering HOW this could have happened but then I realized that my panties were too big so whenever I got up to fast, the pad couldnt catch it all! When I was done w/ my test, I stood up and "whoosh" again! This was just not my day! LUCKILY for me, I had another pair of sweatpants and panties in the women's locker room.

a good waitress comes to the rescue
dinner with my fiance's family, it was a kind of a dinner theatre in a nice hotel. the chairs were cream coloured and very nice. from my second to 4th day i am heavy to very heavy flow, i tend to double up on pads if im away from home. but every so often i have a leak. the dinner was a buffet and i had moved and felt the wet outside of the pads, so i turned slightly and peaked, and there was a nice bright red spot on the very nice cream chair, with grandma and father almost right beside me. i poked my fiance and told him that he would have to go and get my dinner for me, an i showed him the chair. he suggested i have the chair changed, so i motioned for a waitress to come over, and i whispered in her ear the problem. she said no problem, and as i got up she dropped the cloth she had on her arm, onto the chair. i got up and nearly ran to the bathroom. i changed my pads and made sure that they covered everything and went back to the table. my fiance told me that he told his parents that the chair had a broken leg so i had to get it changed. i dont go out for dinner much anymore because of the heavy flow, but it was sure nice to see a waitress be nonplussed about it all

Disneyland+period=humiliation
I was at Disneyland when I was 11, and we went on this water ride, and I got SOAKED. Everything, including my pad, got WET. I ran over to the roller coaster really fast, and I didnt know that my pad got wet and less sticky. I ran SO FAST that my pad fell off my underwear, and on the ground!! Even worse, I was alone, and it was in front of an old man!! So I picked it up REALLY fast, ran to my little brother (who was 9 at the time, and knew about periods), and I stuffed my gross pad in his pocket, because I couldn't find a trashcan, or my parents. I threw it out as soon as I could, and pretty much DIED of embarassment.
