why so anti pms?

To the first "woman" who says we haven't had PMS, I just can't see why she would be so against women who have it. I think she is a he, actually. I have been seeing a shrink for seven years and been on antidepressants for PMS. Let's see, I can't leave the house from depression, I bump into things, my body swells, I can polish off anything with salt or sugar, I have major body dysmorphic disorder when I am pmsing, I cry at anything, and start fights with people over nothing. Is that good enough for you?

You probably don't have PMS

Well, all I'd like to say that most women DO NOT HAVE PMS. Only about 10% of menstruating women experience PMS, even though the other 90% may experience some of the same symptoms. So, until you see your doctor and are diagnosed with PMS (or PMDD) QUIT COMPLAINING ABOUT IT!!!!!!

Me, Myself and...

I get so bloated it looks like I'm at least 4 months pregnant which makes my mood swings worse because I then have to add body image problems to everything else. I haven't quite found the solution for that but eating lots of fresh fruit and drinking water seems to help some. I get so pissy that as someone else on here said "I can't even stand myself" and others think I've gone crazy, so I try to stay away from everyone or not voice all the terrible things I'm thinking. I try to indulge in lots of baths with scented candles and at-home-facials to help with relaxation...and facial breakouts! I have a mask that I use with Icelandic minerals in it that works miracles! Some people say toothpaste (not gel) works really well overnight. I try to avoid going shopping and eating fast food (which I did a lot in my younger years) and learned the hard way that I would only regret it later. Oh, and if your significant other can stand you and you feel like it...have sex! It'll relieve the stress, make you feel loved and like loving someone and it's a good work out!

Bad PMS

I have horrible PMS, cramps, bloating and heavy periods each month. I have just started a vitamin regimen and this first month has been MUCH better - I hope it continues. I have been taking vitamin b complex, magnesium, zinc, vitamin e and vitamin c. I also use 1 tablespoon of flax meal in my oatmeal each day, starting about 10 days before I get my period. I have found I have more energy and am not as edgy.

PMS

I got bloating, irritability and always would cry over stupid things that people said to me which were meant to be funny.

The symptoms I found were tolerable but they were not amusing to other people who found me really unreachable and moody near to my periods. I found that taking a multi vitamin with everything in it really helped smooth out most of my symptoms and it also stopped pms cravings too.

I found help.

I used to be very wacky when it came to PMS. You name it, I had it.....moody, cranky, headaches, bloating, cramps, ate everything in site, miserable during cyle.....etc......

BUT I found that if I modify my diet the week to 10 days before my period, symptoms are 100% better. (cut out white breads and starches, limit fried foods and high sugars..its worth the sacrifice!) I also found subsititutions for the things I crave...Instead of the King Size Snickers, I eat chocolate pudding. I also went to a nutritionist and purchased some natural progesterone cream which helps with hormonal balance.

Hope this helps.
